    Frequently asked questions

Why is my GIF file so large?

GIF is an old format that stores every frame as a full image with at most 256 colors. Shorter duration, smaller width, and lower frame rate all shrink the file.

What settings make a good GIF?

Two to four seconds, 360 px wide, at 10 frames per second covers most reaction and demo GIFs nicely.

Can I make a GIF from any video format?

Yes. Anything the converter accepts, including MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV and AVI, can be turned into a GIF.

    Is the GIF maker private?

Yes. The GIF is rendered entirely in your browser. Your videos are never uploaded to any server.
