Compress a video for email

Most mail servers refuse an attachment over about 25 MB and plenty of company ones stop at 10. This gets the file small enough to attach instead of parking it on a drive and sending a link.

    Frequently asked questions

How small does a video have to be to email it?

Gmail and Outlook both stop at around 25 MB, and many company mail servers stop at 10, so aim under 10 MB and it goes through almost anywhere. The strong setting at 720 wide gets a short clip there. A long one needs 480, or needs cutting first.

    What happens to the quality?

Anything that re-encodes the video costs a little quality, and this page tells you when it does. Trimming on a keyframe and removing the sound do not re-encode at all, so those come out identical to the original.

    Is anything uploaded?

No. The video engine runs inside your browser, so your files are read on your device and never leave it. There is no account, no upload and no watermark.

    Is it really free?

Yes. No sign-up, no trial, no watermark and no limit on how many videos you put through it. The site is paid for by ads.
