Frequently asked questions
What size does WhatsApp allow?
A single video is capped at 16 MB in most places, and WhatsApp compresses whatever it accepts. The strong setting with the height dropped to 480 usually lands well under the cap, and because you chose the settings the result looks better than what WhatsApp would have done to the original on its own.
What happens to the quality?
Anything that re-encodes the video costs a little quality, and this page tells you when it does. Trimming on a keyframe and removing the sound do not re-encode at all, so those come out identical to the original.
Is anything uploaded?
