    Frequently asked questions

When is 480p the right choice?

When the limit is the file size and not the picture: a message that will not send, a form with an upload cap, a page that has to open on a slow connection. At 480p a minute of ordinary footage comes down to a few megabytes.

    What happens to the quality?

Anything that re-encodes the video costs a little quality, and this page tells you when it does. Trimming on a keyframe and removing the sound do not re-encode at all, so those come out identical to the original.

    Is anything uploaded?

No. The video engine runs inside your browser, so your files are read on your device and never leave it. There is no account, no upload and no watermark.

    Is it really free?

Yes. No sign-up, no trial, no watermark and no limit on how many videos you put through it. The site is paid for by ads.
