Make an MP4 smaller

Bring the size of an MP4 down without turning it into something else. The video is re-encoded at a higher compression level and you decide how hard.

1 · Choose your videos

Drag & drop videos here, or click to browse

Up to 5 videos, max 200 MB each · MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI…

    2 · Pick the compression

The video engine (~31 MB) downloads on first use and is then cached by your browser. All processing runs on your own device; nothing is uploaded.

    3 · Collect your videos

Results appear here with a preview. Download them one by one or grab everything as a ZIP.

    Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will it get?

It depends entirely on what the original was. Footage straight off a phone or a screen recorder is usually carrying a lot of waste and can lose half its size or more with nothing visible changing. Something already compressed once has much less to give, and pushing it harder shows.

    What happens to the quality?

Anything that re-encodes the video costs a little quality, and this page tells you when it does. Trimming on a keyframe and removing the sound do not re-encode at all, so those come out identical to the original.

    Is anything uploaded?

No. The video engine runs inside your browser, so your files are read on your device and never leave it. There is no account, no upload and no watermark.

    Is it really free?

Yes. No sign-up, no trial, no watermark and no limit on how many videos you put through it. The site is paid for by ads.
