Remove the sound from a video
Strip the audio track out and leave the picture exactly as it was. Nothing is re-encoded, so nothing about how it looks changes and it takes a moment.

Up to 5 videos, max 200 MB each · MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI…
The video stream is copied bit for bit and only the audio is dropped, so muting finishes in seconds and the picture quality is untouched.
The video engine (~31 MB) downloads on first use and is then cached by your browser. All processing runs on your own device; nothing is uploaded.
3 · Collect your videos
Results appear here with a preview. Download them one by one or grab everything as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions
Does this re-encode the video?
No. The picture is copied across frame for frame and only the audio track is dropped, so the result is exactly as sharp as the original and the job takes seconds instead of minutes. It is also why the file barely changes size: the sound was a small part of it.
What happens to the quality?
Anything that re-encodes the video costs a little quality, and this page tells you when it does. Trimming on a keyframe and removing the sound do not re-encode at all, so those come out identical to the original.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The video engine runs inside your browser, so your files are read on your device and never leave it. There is no account, no upload and no watermark.
Is it really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no trial, no watermark and no limit on how many videos you put through it. The site is paid for by ads.
